The site and blog entries are rather silent until this time of year. I did get an early start this year but it’s never early enough. If I could I would do this all year long but I am one of many people that feel this way about the Halloween season. The site is sporting a new look this year. This will spawn a new effort to expand what Haunted.HyperReactor.com is and dose. Fortunately this and Halloween in general thrive on harder economic times, limitation pushes creativity forward. So if you have a Halloween event this year you will want to keep an eye out on this site and sign up for the newsletter. We will have an attractive way to get your events site more visible and attractive.
Florida Events
Last year we had an online review of Howl-O-Scream at Bush Gardens, Tampa. It’s a bit different every year so yearly reviews are done. This Tampa event will be done early during its preview on September 28th, 29th or 30th. (Because we visit as normal park visitors to ensure no special treatment, we do not publish the exact date until after the review.) I am most excited about their new 3D house because I love the affect and this is the first year it has gotten a major makeover in over 3 years.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando is an event I skip from time to time due to the long wait in lines and limited rides that are open for the event. A review trip is planned for this year to see if things have improved or changed. This would be an excellent event to visit if the management would open up more of the park to distribute the people and lines so we will see how they do this year. Looking at the other websites with opinions from real people in the past, it appears that I am not the only one with this opinion. New haunted houses are built every year for Halloween Horror Nights and I hope for a good trip. I’m excited to go through “Dead Silence” most of all. If you have not seen the move that came out on DVD earlier this year, I recommend it highly.
You’re Home & Yard Haunts
The Laser Vortex was a big hit last year with a first prize win at the Instructables.com 2006 Halloween contest and landed a small mention in the Make Magazine Halloween edition for 2007 . This is a simple project that gets a spectacular 3D Vortex affect I have used in my Halloween Haunt I wanted to share. Expanding on the concept, I will be publishing a new project in October based on the Laser Vortex along with any other projects I have time for.
Audio is one of the best improvements you can make to any haunt. There are some great audio tracks you can buy but I will be attempting my own track this year. Doing things different as I always like to do, this will have a mix of science built into it. I’ll do the work and let you know the theory behind it; you will be able to download the track for free from this site. Ill also recommend some more traditional audio tracks for those of you that want to stick to the mainstream stuff.
If you looking for a head start just check out Haunting Sounds .
This and more in the month ahead!
