The last couple of years I have used a Sony
DSC-v1 digital camera. This is a simi-professional, 5 megapixel camera with 4X optical zoom. This camera was chosen
for its small size, night vision capability, lens and filter exchangeability
and ability to record mpeg video as well as audio.
I have yet to find a digital camera that equals
the capability for shooting images and video in a small size that the DSC-V1
can. Although it dose have a Point and Shoot mode this camera is not the camera
for everyone. The LCD display is smaller than most, although small there are
many slimmer cameras on the market, battery life is limited and the built on
flash is rather slow to charge. For my use this is most suitable camera out of
the box, no modifications needed but a lot of features to learn.
Any recent video or images I have taken were likely
with this camera and on location I’ll have a spar battery, 1 gig and 128 meg
memory card. Full frame video recording on the 1 gig memory stick is about 40 minuets,
more than enough capability for most on site recording.
Older video was done with an analog 8 millimeter Sony ccd
tr-416 camcorder. Night vision was also a feature on this unit.
Future upgrades to the equipment will be to better disperse the
infrared emitter on the V1 as it has a tendency to spot beam with no other
light source. I would also like to make an external infrared emitter to expand
its night vision capabilities. After all, nothing ruins a good Halloween event night
like flash photography.
HRN is an abbreviation for The HyperReactor.com Network, nothing more than a group of sites that hold information on different subjects or hobbies. HyperReactor.com is a hub or index site that holds general information of what is currently being covered or hosted under it. The sites that contain specific information on those subjects are all independent of one another. This helps to organize information to make it easy to find and an address that is easy to remember. For instance, you are on Haunted.HyperReactor.com now, this site is on the subject of Halloween. Mobile.HyperReactor.com is another network site that covers information on mobile phones and mobile devices. More will be created as time goes on and most will be listed on the main site at HyperrReactor.com.
We have collected many graphics from many places that share them openly but most are custom creations done by the webmaster that also has experience in digital photography and video editing.
A contributor is just any person with an interest in the site and has something to contribute to it. For example, if you go to Howl-o-Scream this year you could let us know what you thought of it in the form of an article , forum discussion or any way we make available on the site. Share what you thought of it, information you have on it, pictures or video. Same goes for Halloween projects like decoration and costumes or good deals you find on something like fake blood somewhere. You can contact us and let us know what you would like to do and we will give you the opportunity or if there is enough interest we will make an automated request form online. It is not hard to do and if you post that you didn’t like something it will save some people the trouble and expense of going to these events or get to show others your project or costumes. It can be a lot work to put all this together and contributors help out greatly.
Haunted.HRN is a site I have planned to do for years because of my love for this holiday. In August of 2006 I began construction of Haunted.HRN and plan to have the following:
Information on Halloween events with pictures and video I have taken as well as others I may be able to post from the past and present. (mostly in the state of Florida)
Blogs, reviews, opinions, forums and hopefully user submitted information, images and videos from all over.
Halloween decoration how-to’s and ideals.
Links to other sources of information that contain similar information
Places to buy Halloween costumes, audio, decorations and such.
This will be a lot of information to put together before October of 2006 but it will always be growing year after year. I hope others that enjoy this holiday as much as I do are willing to help out in any way they can and I can make available.
