Ghosts and Gravestones Tour
Comparative Reviews of Major Halloween Events
Written by Mever

staug_ghosts_and_gravestones_2007

Around Halloween, you’ll find dozens of places trying to pull you in for a good scare. Elaborate story lines are created, people are dressed up and lights are dimmed down. Most everyone loves a good scare, I know I do. It dose not matter if you really believe in the monsters learking around or not and you still have fun with a story that is not real.

I love to visit these elaborate fictional creations every year but it will never be the same as ghost stories by the camp fire or wandering off into the dead of night with a few close friends were shadows naturally play on your imagination. The ghost tours in St. Augustine are the closest thing I have found to bring this side of Halloween a little closer. The true history from our past told in these tours is truly scary from our point of view today. They take you back to a time when being buried alive was a real concern and amputated body parts ended up in the back yard. It dose not get any more true or real then this.

For 2007, I took the Ghosts and Gravestones tour presented by Ancient City Tours in St. Augustine Florida. This takes you on tours of the old Spanish Military Hospital, the Old Drug Store and the Old Jail at night with tour guides that know the darker yet true history of St Augustine and play their part of your experience well.

Halloween 2007 Just Around the Corner
General Halloween Event News & Tips
Written by Mever
Tuesday, 11 September 2007

The 2007 Halloween season is approaching fast. Haunted.HyperReactor.com will be meeting it with a different face this year. More things to come so sign up for the newsletter if you want to stay posted.

Howl-O-Scream Haunted House For the hard core haunters and people that just like to be victims during a full moon at the haunted venues like Halloween Horror Nights and Howl-o-Scream, you have a couple of great opportunities. Both start on Friday September 28th with the full moon happening just a couple days prior on the 26th. But the weekend before Halloween will give you the full moon on Friday October 26th. If there was ever a good excuse to take a long weekend in the name of blood and gore, this will be it. The Event Calendar is a good place to look to fill some dead space in your schedule with these events. You can also find event reviews and video in our Halloween Events section. The gallery also contains images from years past, most you won't see anywhere else.

Laser Vortex If you’re building haunts, big or small, you will be building a lot from scratch. Our Laser Vortex was a top prize winner at Instructables.com last year. We have some new things in the closet this year and you’ll find many more at instructables.com . If you make something special for your haunt this is a great place to show it off and share your work with others.

We will be creeping around the video sites soon to post whatever interesting haunt clips snuck in during the off season. If there is a good one we missed, contact us and let us know

Finally,  our message board has been updated to discuss and share information regarding all things Halloween. Events, projects, stories or secrets… share them here.

More to come Very Soon!

Dragon and Medieval Sculptures
Links
Written by Mever
Thursday, 26 October 2006

zombie_of_montclaire_moors This guy showed up in my Design Toscano catalog this month! He isn’t high on my wish list because I would only use him for Halloween but still.

Those of you that like gargoyles, dragons, and medieval sculptures would love this catalog or their website and its one of the only places I have found for what they have. A small amount of their sculptures can be found at Spencer’s gifts and my a lot can be found in one of the Busch Gardens gift shops that I just have to spend 20 minutes or so in while I’m at Howl-o-Scream. Those are the only places I can find the good stuff.
